At the TVA OIG, we believe that investing in our employees is reflected in the caliber of our work. We know that smart people want more than just a job - they want the chance to make a difference. In a constantly evolving industry, we know how important it is for our employees to have the chance to learn about the new issues and challenges of the day.

We offer a variety of training programs that allow for professional enrichment as well as satisify continuing education requirements to maintain professional certifications. These programs focus on skill development, people management, creativity, and the business of the industry. Developmental opportunities include attendance at external classes and conferences, professional training brought in- house, self-guided tutorials, mentoring, and on-the-job training.

Similarly, our development plans and career discussions are designed to ensure that every employee's aspirations are understood by the OIG and that future assignments support their goals as effectively as possible. We also ensure that every individual's current responsibilities are clearly communicated and the supervisor and employee both agree on any developmental goals that are established.

  • Professional Certifications. The OIG encourages employees to enhance their professionalism by obtaining certifications that apply to job responsibilities. The OIG also may reimburse employees for expenses of study materials, registration fees, and exam fees; provide work time to study for and take the exam; and provide a lump sum award upon successful completion of certain certifications.

  • Advanced Degrees. Employees who complete a job-related advanced degree will receive an increase to their base pay.

  • Reimbursement for Privilege Tax, Professional Membership, License, and Certification Fees. The OIG reimburses employees for maintaining professional licenses, certifications, and memberships in professional organizations necessary for accomplishing their responsibilities and objectives at the OIG. This benefits the OIG by promoting the professionalism of its employees and by contributing to corporate objectives.

The TVA OIG is an Equal Opportunity Employer. It is our policy to provide equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or age.
