We are dedicated professionals who understand the importance of TVA's role and TVA's impact on the quality of life in the Tennessee Valley, and as such, know that our mission "to make TVA better" really matters.

We believe that achieving outstanding performance requires building and maintaining strong, trusting relationships with TVA and with each other. We know that these relationships require demonstration of our knowledge, skills, integrity in the work we do, and open and honest communication. We are driven to identify opportunities for improvement for TVA, the TVA OIG, and ourselves. We do this because it is important, because it is the right thing to do, and because it is who we are.

Ranked One of The Best Places To Work In The Federal Government

The TVA Office of Inspector General (OIG) has been named one of the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government for six consecutive years from 2015 to 2020 by the non-profit Partnership for Public Service. The TVA OIG ranked 1st in 2020 out of over 400 other federal agency subcomponents.

The ranking is based on the annual Employee Viewpoint Survey of federal government employees by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

Our OIG team has worked extremely hard to create and sustain a productive work environment that is focused on making TVA better,
said Deputy Inspector Jill Matthews, "It is an honor to be named as one of the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government. I am very proud of our engaged and dedicated team that is focused on providing an independent perspective of TVA operations. Our office is proud to help TVA become better for the good of the people of the Tennessee Valley."
